Every August during Belfast’s Harbor Fest, Come Boating is host to an annual Regatta, with visiting boats and crews coming from all parts of the northeast, and sometimes as far as the United Kingdom. We also participate in invitational races held by rowing clubs in Glouster, Cape Anne, Boston, Hull, Lake Champlain.
At the boat shed, you can find information about our racing program. We have special rowing times for training races. Race signup sheets are in the mailbox next to the boat shed. For more information contact one of our race coordinators at CBgigRacing@gmail.com.
In the summertime, Thursday evenings are reserved for club races in Belfast harbor, when all are welcome to participate in some fun and friendly competition racing against other CB members in our pilot gigs, Selkie, Belle Fast, and Malcom G. No special training or advance signup is necessary. Just show up and be ready to row hard!
Annual Head of the Tide Race – held in early October, is a really fun race with all three boats rowing to the head of the tide, and then racing each other down the Passey River for home. Sign up and train for this one!
